Desert Rock Arch Coloring Page

A massive sandstone arch dominates the upper half of this desert landscape drawing, its curved underside sweeping from one cliff wall to the other in a single broad arc on this coloring sheet. Beneath it, rounded boulders of varying sizes rest on the canyon floor, their surfaces marked with horizontal stress lines and fracture patterns typical of eroded sedimentary rock. Towering cliff faces on each side rise in stepped, layered formations, each stratum outlined with its own distinct edge. The arch itself benefits from warm burnt orange, terracotta, and rust tones layered gradually to suggest the curved depth of the stone. Use lighter sandy yellows on the boulder tops where light would hit directly, then shift toward deep sienna in the shadowed gaps between rocks. The sky visible through the arch could contrast sharply using pale blue washes against the warm stone palette surrounding it.
