Desert Rock Towers Coloring Page
About This Coloring Page
Horizontal bands of sedimentary layers wrap around each stone pillar, creating stacked patterns that follow the natural erosion history of these desert monuments on this coloring sheet. The tallest formation stands in the center with deep vertical cracks cutting through its weathered surface, while smaller rock outcroppings cluster around its base. A sweeping arch connects two background towers, its curved underside showing the same stratified texture as the main pillars. The layered rock striations need careful blending between warm earth tones-try burnt sienna for lower bands transitioning to pale ochre near the tops. Shadows beneath the arch and within the vertical cracks benefit from deep purple or charcoal shading to create dimension against sun-bleached stone faces. The foreground rocks and sparse desert plants give you smaller areas to experiment with contrasting greens and browns against the dominant sandstone palette.
