Waterfall Down Cliff Face Coloring Page
About This Coloring Page
Water streams down the cliff face in long, parallel curved lines that break apart as they hit ledges and scatter into smaller rivulets for this coloring page. Each rock section on the cliff wall is outlined as a distinct flat-faced polygon, creating a patchwork of irregular rectangular and trapezoidal shapes stacked unevenly from pool to summit. Fern fronds fan outward from crevices at both sides of the waterfall, their individual leaflets drawn with short diagonal strokes off a central spine. The rock wall sections are an illustrator's playground - use warm tans and cool grays on alternating blocks to show how different minerals weather at different rates. Reserve pure white or very pale blue for the active water channels, then deepen to slate or pewter in the shadowed gaps between boulders at the base. The ferns need distinct separation from the stone, so try two or three contrasting greens across the fronds to pull them visually forward.
