Monarch Butterfly Coloring Page
About This Coloring Page
Wing segments divide into dozens of small cells that follow the natural vein structure radiating from the butterfly's body outward to the wing edges. Five-petaled flowers with circular centers appear both above and below the monarch, while pointed leaves with visible center veins create a garden setting. The butterfly's antennae curve upward in matching arcs, and its segmented body connects the symmetrical wing halves. Each wing cell becomes its own mini coloring challenge-shade from orange at the center to darker burnt sienna near the edges, or reverse the gradient for dramatic effect. The flower petals might use graduated yellow-to-gold tones, while leaves could mix hunter green bases with lime green highlights along the veins. Try colored pencils for the fine wing veining, switching to markers for the larger petal and leaf areas to build varied surface textures.
